MailForge 1.2 Released

We're pleased to announce the release of MailForge 1.2. Although the list of new features / bug fixes is a little on the short side, it belies the significance of this release both in terms of general stability and SMTP compatibility...

Sending Email
- Improved compatibility with STARTTLS servers
- Fixed issue that could cause MailForge to attempt STARTTLS with a non-STARTTLS server
- Fixed numerous small issues with SMTP socket that could cause problems with strict servers

Receiving Email
- Fixed issue that could cause some incoming attachments to not be saved

Sorting
- Sort by Subject is much faster
- Sort by Subject now ignores "Re:" and "Fw:"
- Group Messages is now re-enabled

Labels
- Fixed issue that prevents Label changes from being immediately visible

Status
- Fixed issue that prevents Status changes from being immediately visible

Priority
- Fixed issue that prevents Priority changes from being immediately visible

Performance
- Substantial performance increase when downloading email to a large mailbox that is currently open

Crashes
- Fixed crash when sorting mailboxes
- Fixed crash when switching mailboxes / tabs
- Fixed crash when Replying/Forwarding/Redirecting/Deleting an email that was not visible

Registration
- 30-day trial has been extended
Since the early beta days, we have reset the 30-day trial for virtually every build of MailForge. Even with MailForge 1.0, we continued to reset with every build, in recognition of MailForge being a work-in-progress. With version 1.2 however, MailForge is now much more rounded out, in terms of stability and reliability. So while we, like most software developers, will continue to reset trial periods for significant new versions (such as 1.5, etc), we will not continue to do so for every single build.

What's Next
The need to address the SMTP compatibility and general stability sidetracked us from a number of features we were in the process of adding, such as Manual Filtering. We're now finishing the implementation of that feature, as well as several others.
