Odysseus 0.9.0b - Public Beta

Hi Everyone,

We've just uploaded Odysseus 0.9.0b. This build fixes the following issues:

- Resets the trial period for individuals who have previously installed and used Odysseus.
- Adds Address Book menu
- Fix crash when Replying, Forwarding, or Redirecting a message that had been imported
- Improved formatting of the Attachments list at bottom of messages
- Fixed issue where menus disappear after deleting mailbox
- Fixed issue where Stationery Name and Stationery Body would not be saved
- Minor improvement to Signature and Stationery handling when creating new message

Hummmm - this version appears to have done considerable violence to the preview pane (unified view). Mostly, selecting a mail gives nothing in the preview pane. Clicking on some messages gives the "Odysseus experienced an unrecoverable error ..." message.

I'm pleased to see a new update is out which has fixed one major issue that I was having in that I could not check email. I can now connect to my mail server - although I have to make sure I'm connected first. Odysseus still does not find my dialup connection automaticly.
THe other problem that I'm having is with importing more than 1 mailbox. My mailbox folders are stored as subdirectories of the Eudora program directory eg \Eudora with a mail folder \eudora\Angela.FOL "Angela" contains two files ToAngela.mbx and From Angela.mbx - with associated toc files. In Odysseus after importing \eudora\Angela.fol I end up with a "From Ange"and "toangela" folders under "Imported From Eudora" rather than an "Angela" folder containing "To" and "From".

I can't see how to select multiple mail folders for import.
Any assistance welcome!

There is still the problem with character-size. I'm using 120 dpi as my Windwos-Default. However, the fields in the composing new message window are too small to display the characters entirely.

Having restarted Odysseus, things were rather better (and it seemed to work fine with one account at work). However, now at home I have one mail item which crashes Odysseus whenever I select it in the In box. So I can't even delete it (Eudora was quite OK with it and it looks pretty normal to me).

So:

1) What is the recovery procedure? And in the longer term, what will the Odysseus strategy be for this sort of case?
2) Is there a way to create an empty, compacted mailbox so I can replace the In box with it?
3) Do you want the crash dump, the mail item, my In box, etc ?
4) What's the status of any logging facility at present?

Definitely send us the In Box if you don't mind. This would the first example we've seen of this. We're running some mailboxes with 74,000+ messages and no issues, so we're very curious to see what's causing that.

By the way - I had a mail like it the other day and the only way I could recover was to throw away my whole Odysseus folder, and re-create the accounts from fresh. I think that was last night. So I am working with a pretty fresh setup.

Btw, your main Odysseus page is still linking to version 0.8.3.

When I delete a message, instead of going to the next message in the inbox, it deselects messages... bit of a usability issue.

I know this is starting to sound like a broken record, but I still can not access my att.net mailbox. Same issues as previous releases - it just hangs until it times out. I have checked settings - that is not the problem.
