No, not orphaned. We will have an announcement soon on this topic.

e-Mail clients are important:

Google acquires Apple-oriented email client Sparrow ahead of iPad app release

It would be fantastic if Eudora could live with whatever name now and in the future!

Aloha Matt:

Thank you for making an appearance.

I had originally posted a version of this before I left for my gym this morning but it seems to have disappeared.

I would very strongly counsel giving us a reply in the next 48 hours. The past is littered with postings stating an announcement would be made soon.

In that announcement, may I have answers to the questions I posed in my letters and in the posting that opened this thread.

'Thank you,

Yes, and if you read Google's announcement, you will see that they purchased Sparrow for the purpose of killing it. There will be no further development.

I think most, if not all, of the people on this forum believe the email clients are important. If not, we wouldn't be here. Unfortunately, there is a strong trend to move towards webmail, and a bunch of users who don't know any better.

Aloha Group:

Well, it is as I thought it might be.

Thanks to the poster who has been on the ReadBasic Forums pages.

We have been orphaned.

Matt, to be blunt, you should really have been up front enough with those of us who still follow the IDS forums pages to put on those pages what you have posted on the RealBasic Forums pages.

I can certainly empathize with what you are feeling but some blunt honesty with your customers would have gone a long way.

Good Luck,

Hi Everyone,

Sorry it's taken us a while to post this. We wanted to post it sooner, but needed to make sure we had everything nailed down first.

Aloha Matt:

And are Netsay and Michael still there as well?

It has in essence been a week since you posted your initial response to my thread with the note that there would be an announcement "soon." It has been about 4 to 5 days longer since you made your posts on the http://forums.realsoftware.com/.

You indicate that you have someone to assume the program.

I would suggest that you have that group's lead programmer, assuming for a moment that there is a group taking on MailForge big enough to have a lead programmer, join these forums, introduce themselves and give us (your and their customer base that is interested enough to follow these forums) a synopsis of who they are and what their goals are.

From following these forums since Odysseus I observe that with regard to IDS programming that a very old surgical adage holds: When all is said and done, there is a hell of a lot more said than done.

Cheers,
Lonnie King

and I paid for MailForge 3 but 2weeks ago :( Fortunately some of my investments have been much more costly :) It still has too many glitches to prevent me from using it as my working mail app.

I'm still using Eudora Classic on 10.6.8. Since moving to the splendid SEE Finance from Quicken, Eudora remains the only app tethering me to Rosetta. I'm reckoning on jumping to Mountain Lion about 10.8.2 or .3 so if any company is going to take over MailForge, they have very few weeks to gain my confidence.

What if Eudora was to go full cycle and a university (and think much wider than the USA) was to take on MailForge?
